I found out I will be able to get my CCT (successful completion of medical postgrad training/specialty training - finally, it's been a very long time for me!) in February just before I leave for my Japan trip :-) :-) :-) And made it back to Germany even now for one week to be with my parents and sister which was not expected.
There's been clear skies and a beautiful but less misty and subdued winter light here, more golden in the lat afternoon (far far more south obviously!) and it's dusky now.

Yes, the low winter light here is very special indeed - there's only six hours of it too, so you have to get outside at lunchtime or you miss it.
