I’m off to see the exhibition this morning. Making a day of it as I catch Ilana Halperin’s What is Us at the Fruitmarket Gallery before it finishes. Can’t wait to see Confluence- as I did indeed contribute to it at its birth at Northlight Gallery which is when I discovered your work. Your exhibition followed the show I curated there on behalf of Edge textile artists Scotland. Gosh - a long time now. Looking forward to returning to Orkney in a couple
Sounds like a great day - I did much the same last Saturday. ‘Earth Matters’ Show at Botanics is meant to be very good but I didn’t get a chance to see it.
Yes I hope to get to that too believe it’s on longer, so many great exhibitions on everywhere! I enjoyed seeing Confluence (will put some posts on my social media), would have liked it to have had more space, but that’s the nature of such a big group exhibition I suppose. Quite an achievement Sam, a lovely piece of work which I felt privileged to have been a tiny part of in its infancy and watch it grow through your posts.
Ooh huge thanks for this. I’ll be over in Scotland end of June will go see Confluence up close! It’s great that they have hung it, well done! What kind of paper was it painted on please - to withstand all that rolling and bending and pen work?
"Confluence" is what brought me to the Life Raft. Sorry I've slipped off, especially as I love to hear artists talk about their work and to catch peeks of studios and works in progress. But my schedule has changed. So it goes.

Brilliant to finally see this amazing artwork in person today, so beautiful and original.
Thank you so much Kirsty!

Just heavy cartridge paper - Canson. Great that you’ll be able to see the exhibition!
I made it! Just wonderfully mesmerising.
So much beauty!

We miss you, Jean! Do come back if your schedule changes again!
Would have loved to see this exhibition. Fantastic that an idealistic organisation has managed to support artist for two centuries!
It’s amazing when you stop and thnk about it!
Yippee made it to see Confluence up close! Quite mesmerising. If only I had a wall high enough to hang it…!
