Thank you for these images and thoughts... I too have been thinking about habitual ways and the discomfort/potential of changing them. I really loved your walkthrough video. Wish I could come and draw some bubbles!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I have one of those handheld tripod thingies that smooth out movement, but of course I forgot it, so it had to just be a wobbly walkthrough!
Yes, change feels uncomfortable doesn't it? I sometimes wonder if that's literally the feeling of new neural pathways finding their way through the old grey matter....
Your exhibition looks fab Sam. I wonder if you’ll be sad to see Sea Mist go? I would have certainly loved to have given it a home. It just goes to show that persistence pays off. Draw a few bubbles for me will you? I wonder how and where that piece will end. That too is going to be fascinating.
Your exhibition looks divine in that beautiful space. We were there just the two weeks before you and everything I hung took in a new and better appearance. I would love to have stayed a few days longer but had to get back. Loving the drawing together project.
I’m not local to Orkney, but held an exhibition at Northlight with a friend s few years back. The work I brought up this time was from a textile artist group I’m a member of. I love Northlight it’s a great space. I wish I could see more details of your paintings - they look so interesting, many layers and subtle tones and textures.
Beautiful work, Sam. Such insights into your creative process, and I love the collaborative nature of that grand piece in the gallery. Such a lovely thing to be able to contribute to, and I imagine you have the opportunity for so many lovely exchanges with those who lift the pen.
Thank you Lindsay! Yes, it feels completely natural to sit and make something together with others. The conversation flows gently, naturally, with moments of quiet that don't feel awkward but companionable.

A little bit, perhaps, but it's going to someone I know so I can go and visit it from time to time! I'll draw some bubbles on your behalf!
Visiting rights! I like that.

Hello Liza! How lovely to connect with you on here! Yes, it's a great space that we are lucky to have in Stromness.
